An Attitude Towards Gratitude

It’s Thanksgiving and we are giving thanks indeed! Most of us are celebrating in a very Vail way – skiing in the morning and (over) eating in the evening. Sometimes it’s hard to remember all we have to be grateful for. So this year, we sat down and put into writing what centers us, why we are who we are and who we have to thank for it. Life is so hectic, it’s easy to become mired in our first-world problems. Well this year we are not!

Marilyn Heaney who is Slifer’s first employee and adds levity and spark to our office is ‘thankful she is here and not there.’ Well, we agree. Feeling more relaxed just looking at these pictures.

Sue Poisson, the one who makes sure bills are paid and the staffs’ sweet teeth are well satiated is thankful for her awesome family and for Red Rocks. Rock on, Sue!

Lisa Mikels, Showroom manager and up for most any fun adventure, is thankful for family, friends and snow. We think in that order.

Addie Lagace, a gal with passion for fashion and the eye for merchandising detail, is grateful for friends and family. Without their constant love and support she wouldn’t be where she is today, which is creating the stunning vignettes we’ve all come to love in the Showroom.

Oshi Gardarian, a bright spot on our already colorful design team, is thankful for her Bo. Take a look – how could you not be thankful for that love?

Interior Architect Kim Toms manages to do it all – and do it well. She’s thankful for her boys, who spent the day in the office with us on Monday. They are true kind, giggly and fun little gentlemen.

The one who hires, hears the problems and deals with all of us – Cyndi Gershenoff – has a perpetual smile on her face. What makes her smile so bright? Her lovely daughters.

Madeline Sapyta just celebrated her one-year anniversary at Slifer Designs. She’s an energetic and enthusiastic designer who’s grateful for her job and that she lives close enough to her family to be able to see them regularly. Look at these lovely Sapyta girls before rocking out at the Katy Perry concert!

Kari Gerber, a sales associate who continually wows us and the secret shoppers, is so in love with her four-month old son, Ryder Finn. A bundle of love that is definitely a reason to give thanks.

Beth Slifer, the woman who started this empire, is thankful for snow… this is one of the best early-snow years in a while.

Our newest employee, Kellie D’Elia-Laskin is thankful first and foremost for her family and her health – something we all should remember to renjoy – and for her new job at Slifer Designs!

Craig Williamson, numbers guru, financial expert and resident male with the very female staff, is thankful to his family, both at home and at SD for their continued support and good wishes while he went through my tongue cancer surgery and recovery. We are so thankful you are healing, Craig. That was a scare.

We are thankful for our friends, family, where we live and what we do. Grateful to work with such an amazing staff and for all that we have. Enjoy the day, enjoy each other and have a big belly laugh with love.
