Beth Slifer
Creative Director and CEO

“The final product of design is lifestyle,” believes Beth Slifer, Chairman of Slifer Designs. After nearly 30 successful years in the field of luxury resort interior design, Beth’s influence has significantly enhanced resort design, taking it from the camp-like simplicity of most resorts in the late 1970’s to the more comfortable destinations for entertaining family and friends of today’s second homes. This focus, combined with an MBA from the University of Chicago, has attracted an international residential clientele and renowned hospitality developers to seek Slifer Designs’ talents for their projects.

Slifer Designs originated as a design firm for second homes in mountain resorts. Although residential clients continue to constitute the majority of the firm's clients, developers and hotel companies who are seeking a residential level of luxury for their commercial projects have become a significant part of the client mix.

A growing segment of the company is the retail sale of furnishings and accessories, with one store in the Vail Valley and a new, larger store in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center in Denver.

Slifer Designs has a clear focus and the clear goal to create luxurious experiences in resort environments. The expertise of the in-house Green Team is available to all clients who wish to include environmentally friendly building principles. Working with developers and homeowners who appreciate their natural environment, it is a logical segue to adhere to practical conservation standards when creating dream homes in dream communities.

In 2008 Beth received Colorado Governor’s Award for Outstanding Colorado Tourism Effort, and the Vail Valley Foundation named Beth the Citizen of the Year in 2009. Beth volunteers for several community boards and non-profit organizations in addition to funding projects that benefit the educational, economic and cultural goals of the community. Beth’s husband, Rod, is a principal owner of Slifer Smith and Frampton, the leading real estate brokerage in the Vail Valley, and he has served several terms as Mayor for the Town of Vail.  Beth and Rod reside in Vail and daughter Alexandra, studying at Vanderbilt University, visits whenever she can!
