From an early age, I was lucky to be able to travel every summer with my family throughout the United States and Canada. As an adult, I've lived in Australia for two years and have travelled extensively throughout the world. Travelling has always been a wonderfully positive and exciting way to learn about different cultures and experience this incredible planet. It has inspired me to be imaginative and creative in my approach to design.
I majored in Art at Wichita State University. My design style stems from my desire to create beautiful and pleasing environments for my clients and their families. I strive to design specifically for each of my clients based on their vision and needs. For me, listening to and interpreting a client's vision is one of the most important and rewarding aspects of my profession.
I've been with Slifer Designs for over 25 years, and I've been able to develop many long term relationships with my clients and their families. It is a huge honor when clients return to me for multiple projects, and recommend me to friends and family.
Over the years my projects have been published in Luxe, Colorado Homes and Lifestyles, House Beautiful and Traditional Homes magazines, and also have been profiled on Plum TV and Renovation Style. My work has focused mainly in Colorado, in Vail, Beaver Creek, Telluride, and Denver, but I've also worked in Harbor Island, Newport Beach and Palm Springs, California, Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Canmore, Alberta, Canada.
My most recent hospitality project was furnishing The Player Group’s new headquarters at the Cliffs in South Carolina, which was terrific fun because it combined contemporary office design with African-inspired luxury living (Gary Player is from South Africa). Interior design allows me to be imaginative and creative and it is extremely diverse in its requirements. I love it!
