BETH SLIFER NAMED TO UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO HOSPITAL
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

EDWARDS, CO – The University of Colorado Hospital has named Beth Sliifer, Creative Director and Chief Executive Officer of Slifer Designs and one of Colorado’s leading business executives, civic leaders and philanthropists, to its Board of Directors.

Slifer is a long-time activist in a broad array of business, community and philanthropic causes, from health care to sustainable development and education. Locally, she serves on the board of the Vail Valley Partnership, Vail Local Marketing District and the OK Corral.  Regionally, she is a member of the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business advisory council and a former board member of Colorado Public Radio.

She and her talented design team at Slifer Designs have been an integral force behind the creation of hospice services, The Maxine Miller Room, at the Vail Valley Medical Center, and in the creation of the Cancer Caring House in Edwards, which is slated to open next month.

“We are truly excited to bring someone of Beth’s stature to our board,” said University of Colorado Hospital President and CEO Bruce Schroffel. “Her skills, her energy, her range of interests are a perfect addition to a board committed not just to keeping our hospital at the top of our demanding profession, but to delivering the best care to our region and beyond.”
Slifer said: “I’m honored to be a part of this board and this critical community effort. Health care is often a confusing, frightening, and complex experience for people. As a country, we’ve often over-invested in parts of it, and under-invested in much of it. University of Colorado Hospital nevertheless has long been among the first to bring new medicine to the exam room and to deliver it safely and compassionately. All of us believe we can go even higher. I can’t think of a better, more important way to serve the community.”
She joins the hospital board, which is chaired by University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center Chancellor M. Roy Wilson, MD, MS, representing Colorado’s District Two. Other board members are Peter H. Coors, Steve Dawes, Richard L. Monfort, Robert Moore, Douglas L. Polson and Timothy Travis.
