Experience:
Post graduation Jim interned for, and later led, the Atlanta hospitality design firm of Culpepper, McAuliffe and Meaders. Culpepper, McAuliffe and Meaders is a firm created out of the original partners’ internships, experiences and successes at Hirsch Bedner & Associates, TVS&A, and the Ai Group. During Jim’s eleven years at CMMI he completed numerous high-profile projects including: the Harborside Hyatt Hotel and Conference Center in Boston, MA, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, GA, the Student Residence Center at Georgia Southern University, and The Grand in Bethesda, MD for Forest City Residential. Jim joined Slifer Designs in 2000 specifically to create and develop a hospitality group that logically combined the firm's resort residential success with its’ entry into the hospitality industry that occurred in the late 90s. By 2001, the department re-organized itself from a six-member architectural consulting group for the residential designer staff into the fifteen-member department it is today, hiring hospitality specific staff, as well as, training old and new members alike in methodologies, processes, designs, and client relationships unique to the hospitality industry.
