We’ve traveled near and far this winter, finding new inventory, updated styles and something for everyone. What have we found? A bit of everything and, honestly, we are in love with it all. Our travels found us first in Dallas at the ARTS Awards. Last year we won for Best Home Accent Retailer in the West (woot!), and this year we were still celebrating – and keeping the store inspired and inspiring.
For the first time, we attend the Ski Industries show in Denver, we found wraps, scarves and mittens. Being a part of the ski show was a whole new experience, and we loved the vibe. Perhaps our favorite find? Sweet, colorful, whimsical two-speed bikes. We cannot wait for cruiser season.
Next up, we rolled into Las Vegas: three buildings, 46 floors and two expansive pavilions stocked with so many things we love. From gifts to fine foods, home accents to seriously enviable design elements, we were in heaven. We’ll definitely be back, and stay for a bit longer for fanciful design elements, inspiration and décor.
New York never lets us down. While this particular show is getting smaller, we still found a lot to love. And is often the case with New York City, we found inspiration outside as well as at the market. The flower district is a fanciful dream – and it’s helping us make one dream a reality. Many customers love silk flowers and the lux looks, so we will be creating our own flower arrangements – something unique to bring spring into your home.
We also found perfect pieces to put the new floral arrangements on – tables and buffets with interesting lines, intricate handles, special details, furniture with curves – they seem to be functional art. Add an updated light fixture, and the house will feel new and well lit.
Details are what make a house into a home. We found details that bring the design together: textile-like single-use napkins that bring the tabletop to life. There are platters rimmed in gold, glassware that is pretty as well as useful, pillows that are colorful, textural and enhance a sofa, bed or patio.
Art work is a personal choice but we found bold, original pieces. Distinctive colors, interesting patterns and visually impactful, we suggest trying something different for a fresh look.
The home is styled… now it’s our turn! Intricately beaded mittens, hand-crafted jewelry in mixed metals with leather and beads, delicious gourmet nibbles, leather handbags that will quickly become a favorite and even organic biscuits for our best four-legged friends.
