From day one, Slifer Designs has been deeply committed to giving back to our community. We support a variety of local nonprofits that promote women’s issues, mental health, and providing safe harbor and affordable housing to those in need.
This year we are a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity, Roundup River Ranch, Bright Future Foundation and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We also dedicate our time, through pro-bono design work, and give monetary assistance, through a variety of sponsorship and in-kind donations, to many other worthy organizations in the Vail Valley.
If you are remodeling or renovating your home and want to learn more about donating your unwanted furnishings to those in need, our design team and warehouse crew are here to help you make a meaningful difference in others’ lives.
Habitat for Humanity
Since 1995, Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley has worked to help local families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
Through its efforts more than 74 Habitat homeowners have built or improved a place they can call home. HFHVV has built and renovated homes in Eagle and Lake Counties in the communities of Leadville, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum.
Bright Future Foundation
About the same time Beth Slifer was starting this company, a nun from Minturn asked for help to support local women in crisis. In response, a small circle of women gathered at the chapel to discuss the issues, chart a course of action, and pass the hat to fund the first mailing of the new organization. The organization was incorporated and registered with the state of Colorado as a nonprofit in February 1984, and eventually became Bright Future Foundation (BFF).
Today, BFF offers a full complement of professional services that help to break the generational cycle of violence by providing immediate relief to families in need. BFF provides proactive and culturally sensitive programs that create sustainable emotional, behavioral, and community change.
Roundup River Ranch
Roundup River Ranch provides children with life-threatening illnesses camp experiences with appropriate medical care that are fun, safe, and empowering completely free of charge to the camper. Hundreds of children coping with serious medical conditions and illnesses from an eleven state region will benefit from Roundup River Ranch’s intentional, engaging, and all-inclusive programs annually. This special place will empower children to reach beyond illness, discover unknown potential, and enjoy the delights of being a child at camp.
Vail Breast Cancer Awareness
Since 1994, The Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group has played a critical role in bringing support to those diagnosed with breast cancer in Eagle County. And we are dedicated to making their journey as easy as possible. Thanks to our premier event, the Celebration of Life Luncheon™, we have raised over a million dollars to fulfill our vision to fund those who fight this disease each day.
VBCAG works in conjunction with the Shaw Cancer Center and Pink Vail.
Vail Valley Foundation
Slifer Designs has partnered with the Vail Valley Foundation almost since its inception. The Vail Valley Foundation produces not only skiing and ski racing events as a sister entity to Vail Resorts, but also partners with Eagle County Schools to provide nonprofit educational support for all local underprivileged school children, arts and arts education with Jazz Goes to School, the internationally-renowned Vail International Dance Festival, and the Vilar Center for the Arts.
