It’s not very often that shopping can help create a brighter future for families in crisis. That’s right, this weekend Slifer Designs is hosting Nina McLemore’s trunk show. A portion of both companies’ proceeds will go directly to the Bright Future Foundation, a nonprofit committed to empowering individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault to lead safe, productive lives through prevention services, advocacy, crisis intervention and recovery services.
Slifer Designs strives to give back in our community – through helping women, children and with education. Tying in with Nina McLemore to provide funding to the Bright Future Foundation was an easy choice.
“I think our clients will enjoy a foray into Nina McLemore’s designs at this trunk show in our Edwards’ Showroom,” said Yvonne Jacobs, president of Slifer Designs and president of Bright Future Foundation. “I am so happy we are able to pair together to make a donation to BFF, an organization that quietly helps so many women, children and families.”
Nina McLemore designs a well-tailored wardrobe for both professional women and the “community professional” woman who serves on boards, travels, and is active in social events. The separates-oriented collection includes suitings, better casual, and evening segments. The fabrics are made with natural fibers including cotton from Switzerland, exotic hand-woven silks from India and fine wools and tweeds from Italy and Scotland. Many of the fabrics are also designed by Nina.
Slifer Designs is a home store that has become a must-see to many locals, visitors and second homeowners. It’s here that founder Beth Slifer and her buying team create distinctive home vignettes that change weekly. The showroom is stocked with everything a home needs from sofas and bar carts to dining tables and beds.
The trunk show will run all from 3 to 7 on Friday; 9 to 7 on Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday. We hope to see you there!
