Hot Days, Cool Nights… Summer Has Arrived

Sure, there was a frost earlier this week but we are steadfastly in the camp that summer has arrived! We love the longer days, the skipping of chores and the chance to kick back and enjoy our patios, decks, backyards and outdoor living spaces in general. Here are a few items we love for summer livin’.

   

What’s not to love about an outdoor pouf? Colorful, fun and multi-faceted: It can be used as an ottoman or additional seating. Teak tables and chairs are classic and only look better as they weather the storms. Update an existing set with colorful cushions.

Colorful pillows – in weather-resistant outdoor fabric – on your favorite chaise. An area rug also perks up a patio with fun colors and added texture to the space. Dark wicker sofas with bright cushions are timeless and provide plenty of seating for parties.

Wrought-iron furniture is classic, comfortable and inviting. Set it by fresh flowers with a glass of lemonade, a book, and you're ready to settle in for the long haul. 

A chill arrives soon after the sun sets – but we are not ready to go inside. Instead, warm up to a fireplace, firepit, chiminea or even propane heater.
 

If you have the space, why not relax by an outdoor fireplace? 

Transform your outside dining area with new linens and dinnerware; use prints and colors, floral with stripes, French country with mid-century modern, mother’s silver with edgy martini glasses. Add fresh flowers and a bottle of rosé and summer has arrived!

How about a glider? Delightful. Keep a few throws on the back of the glider or on the sofas to make the day last even a bit long.
