Slifer Designs @ Nina McLemore Debuts

Slifer Designs has been my home for 17 years – I have grown up with this company and enjoyed every fabric selection, paint color and design scheme along the way. Whether we are creating a new hotel lobby or updating an existing home, every day and every project is rewarding and challenging. I think one of the ways Slifer Designs stays young and current is by trying new things – staying on top of design trends through conferences, magazines, blogs and visiting showrooms. I love it.

This winter we are embarking on a new journey in Vail. Slifer Designs @ Nina McLemore is right on Gore Creek Drive in Vail, and will be adorned with ‘Our Favorite Things,’ – fashionable finds for the home and sumptuous gifts. This ‘boutique within a boutique’ is a chance for us to show you some of our favorites: from sparkly coasters to faux fur throws, glittery jewelry to whimsical furnishings: it’s a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy and totally unexpected.

Vail businesswomen, Beth Slifer, founder and creative director at Slifer Designs, and Nina McLemore, founder of her namesake store, are pairing their values and acumen for business, for working with power women, for creating a greater good in the Vail area and for sharing the finer things in life.

Slifer Designs is celebrating 30 years this year, celebrating an evolution of design and style over the decades. This venture is just one more way to stay true to our Vail roots while meeting new clients, creating new friendships and expanding our offerings.

Key Chain Pompom We all are in love with these flirty, fun pom key chains!

Nina McLemore has stores across the country. She’s been known to outfit power brokers such as Hillary Rodham Clinton, Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. Slifer Designs’ client roster is just as impressive and both staffs provide exceptional, unparalleled customer service, working to find just the right home accessory, accent piece or gift. After all, the designers and retail staff are trained to help make mountain houses into a special homes.

The store is featuring “Our Favorite Things,” and you’ve just gotten a sneak peak at a few. We know it’s the special accents and accessories that make a home yours – whether it’s a custom-designed coffee table, commissioned piece of artwork or a special reading nook for your children. Similarly, it’s the fun and unexpected gifts that bring delight – we’ve found some that will certainly shine!

In early January Vail Jazz Foundation’s “Jazz Goes to School” program will be the recipient of proceeds. There will be a relaxing afternoon of jazz music wafting through the store and a portion of the proceeds going to the nonprofit.

The store has a set expiration date, however, so it behooves the customer to stop by and see what’s fabulous. Just as the snow melts and the mountain closes in April, so too will Slifer Designs @ Nina McLemore.
