Many High Points

So Many High points
in High Point

As fashionistas have Fashion Week in the Big Apple, interior designers have High Point, North Carolina. Our Beth Slifer, Susan Ferrari and Kim DeGroat went on an incredible shopping spree to fill our stores—and truth be told, were able to get some great finds for their own homes.

After spending five days traipsing across acres of design finds, they came back bubbling with talk of trends, fun fabrics, interesting furniture and ideas that intrigue, all of which captured their eyes and attention.

So what are they loving right now? Interesting ottomans—hexagon, oval, square, poofs, which are a great way to add a pop of color to a neutral room.

Definitely more than a foot stool, these fun ottomans from Lillian August and John Richards are a must! They combine funky shapes with fabulous textures. Be on the lookout for curly lamb stools and pillows, zebra stripes, cowhide and even tufting on inside and outside.

Every home needs comfortable chairs, and lucky for you, big leather chairs that beg to be sat in are almost mandatory.

Neutrals are always going to be a mainstay—but they won’t dominate rooms! The designers found pops of rich jewel colors (green, orange, blue, gold, purple, red) used in throws, pillows, lamps, accessories and even walls.

Currey & Company embrace a bold emerald wall while adding bling to this study.

Talk about a pop of color! This Vanguard chair is a stand out.

Designers are using bling of all kinds to bring life to a room. These stunners are from the Phillips Collection.

Lovers of comfort: rejoice! The sectional, some as deep as a twin bed, are home again.

Side tables, end tables, drink tables are perfect, and useful, accent pieces.

Woodbridge side tables are key to making a room home.

What else will be in houses this season? Swivel stools—the kids love to spin them and they make the kitchen a stylish place for breakfast. Also, keep an eye out for textures, color and bling.
